Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on Sunday that an Israeli minister has been suspended from government meetings "until further notice." This decision comes after the minister, Amichay Eliyahu, who serves as the Heritage Minister and is a member of Netanyahu's ruling coalition, made a controversial statement during an interview on Israel's Kol Barama radio.

Eliyahu expressed dissatisfaction with the extent of Israel's retaliation in Gaza following a deadly attack conducted by Hamas fighters in southern Israel on October 7th. In the interview, he even suggested the possibility of dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza.

As a result of his inflammatory comments, Prime Minister Netanyahu's office took swift action and suspended Eliyahu from participating in government meetings. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
