Saturday, December 2, 2023, marks one hundred years since the birth of the great diva, and the official account of Studio Kleisthenis on Instagram wanted to honour her.
From the archive of the photographer Cleisthenis Daskalakou, an unpublished photo of Maria Callas was uploaded, where she posed with the great actress Katina Paxinou in 1960.
The photo's caption reads: "100 years since the birth of Maria Callas, who was born on December 2, 1923. Cleisthenis was her trusted and personal photographer when she came to Greece. He photographed her from her arrival with or without Onassis and on walks in Athens with her friends, at dinner or at events, at rehearsals, and at the two performances she gave Norma in 1960 and Medea in 1961 in Epidaurus. In the unpublished photo, Cleisthenis photographs her with Katina Paxinos on 8-14-1960".
