Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni expressed her optimism over the 2024 tourism season in an interview on Wednesday with SKAI television.

Kefalogianni said that Greece is now an attractive tourism destination and, without referring to figures, she underlined that the ministry aims, among others, to dynamically promote Greece in foreign markets using new media, such as Tik-Tok and others.

Referring to 2023, she noted that it was a record year for arrivals and revenues, exceeding the numbers of 2019.

In 2024, she said the tourism ministry hopes to enrich Greece's tourism portfolio by promoting new products, such as water tourism (scuba diving parks, marinas etc) and other alternative forms of tourism (trekking, skiing).

The minister also announced that an extension will be given for the submission of proposals for the development of marinas, which expires on Wednesday.
