Some 188 migrants arrived off Cape Greco-operation in progress to find missing migrant

The Port and Maritime Police, along with the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Larnaca, were mobilized on Sunday afternoon after receiving information about illegal immigrants arriving off Cape Greco, Cyprus.

188 individuals who entered the country illegally, including children, were aboard several boats. The individuals have been safely transported to the port of Larnaca, where the necessary procedures will be carried out. Afterwards, they will be transferred to the Pournara Temporary Accommodation Centre for Migrants.

At the same time, investigations are currently underway to locate the migrant. According to philenews information, migrants on board the boat reported to rescuers that a person jumped from the boat to go ashore, however from that moment onwards his traces were lost.
