Municipal kindergartens will operate normally.
Due to the bad weather, many schools across Greece will be closed on Monday, January 22, 2024.
So far, the suspension of the operation of Primary and Secondary Education units has been officially announced by the municipality of Eordaia in Kozani by the decision of the mayor Panagiotis N. Plakentas and also by the municipality of Prespa, by the decision of the mayor Georgios Stergiou.
Also, by decision of the Mayor of Florina, Mr Vassilis Giannakis, tomorrow, Monday, January 22, 2024, the primary and secondary schools of the Municipality of Florina will remain closed due to the adverse weather conditions (snowfall and low temperatures) prevailing in the area.
Also, the KDAP and the KDAP MEA of the Municipality of Florina will remain closed.
In the above municipalities, daycare centres will operate normally.
All the Primary and Secondary Education schools of the Municipality of Amyntaios will also remain closed due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the area, according to the decision of the Mayor of Amyntaios, Mr. Ioannis Liasis.
Kindergartens will operate normally except for those in the Municipal Communities of Lehovo and Varikos, which will remain closed.
In Kastoria, an announcement is expected at 6.00 pm. Only now, there was thought to start the operation of the schools at 10.00, but the possibility of not opening at all is being considered.
The schools of the Municipality of Velventos will start at 10.00, while the schools of all grades in the municipality of Voios (west Macedonia) will start one hour later than normal.
