Mitsotakis' trip to the USA has been permanently cancelled

"This trip is impossible," said the government spokesman

Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis confirmed the definitive cancellation of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' trip to the USA.

Due to the prime minister's illness with H1N1 flu, the government spokesman said that "this trip is impossible".

Speaking to SKAI, he said there will be some meetings in which Kyriakos Mitsotakis can participate via video conference.

As noted by Pavlos Marinakis, yesterday, the Prime Minister had a telephone conversation with the US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke on the phone with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the close cooperation between the US and Greece.

According to the State Department's announcement, "Blinken and Mitsotakis underscored the deep and enduring U.S.-Greece bilateral relationship, their shared values as NATO Allies, and Greece’s essential partnership in addressing a wide range of issues."

"The Secretary and Prime Minister also spoke about the importance of protecting navigational rights and freedoms in the Red Sea and Greece’s participation in Operation Prosperity Guardian."
