Many areas in Western and Central Macedonia were covered in snow due to the bad weather that started over the weekend in Greece. In fact, according to METEO, a satellite that passed over Greece recorded a magical white image.
In particular, the data of the European satellite Sentinel-3 of the European Copernicus program show in high resolution the extensive snow cover in the region of Western Macedonia.
Most of the region is covered by snow, with the exception of a few areas around the artificial lake Polyphytos at low altitudes.
Apart from Western Macedonia, snow cover is also observed in areas of Central Macedonia, such as in Kilkis as well as in areas of the Axios plain.
