GSEE: A 24-hour general strike on April 17 across Greece

GSEE Strike

At the heart of the claims are wage increases, immediate action to tackle punctuality, a crackdown on profiteering and the reinstatement of Collective Bargaining Agreements

A decision for a 24-hour general strike on April 17, 2024, was decided by the General Council of the General Confederation of Workers of Greece, which met on January 27, 2024.

In the immediate future, levels of the unions, led by GSEE officials, will begin targeted interventions in 30 prefectures of the country, with employee briefings and visits to workplaces, while TV and radio spots are already being prepared to communicate the demands of the wage labour world.

At the heart of the claims are wage increases, taking immediate measures to deal with punctuality, the crackdown on profiteering, and the reinstatement of Collective Bargaining Agreements.

On the day of the 24-hour general strike on April 17, 2024, rallies will be held in Athens – the central pan-Hellenic rally – and in all the country’s major cities.
