UAE's Sharjah to be honored at Thessaloniki International Book Fair in May

The Sharjah Emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be the honoree of the 20th Thessaloniki International Book Fair (May 16-19), TIF-HELEXPO said, after its leadership met with a delegation of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) on Wednesday.

The delegation's visit follows a recent agreement signed between the Hellenic Foundation for Culture (EIP) and the Authority. The emirate, considered UAE's cultural capital, will use Pavilion 13 at the HELEXPO centre.

TIF-HELEXPO president Tasos Tzikas said it was a great honour to be visited by the delegation, while CEO of SBA and Sharjah's Book Fair Ahmed Al Ameri underlined that the best way to build bridges is through culture.
