Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey has been postponed to a later date, according to the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet. The postponement was due to the election programs in Turkey and Russia.

It is recalled that the Russian state news agency RIA, citing a source from Ankara, reported that the Russian president may visit Turkey at the end of April or the beginning of May.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said yesterday that preparations are continuing for a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

A Turkish official told Reuters last week that Putin would visit Turkey on February 12.
