Greek police arrest former terrorist and commandos in Athens; explosives, weapons seized

Greek police arrested on the weekend four individuals among them a 45-year-old, former member of the terror group "Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire".

The arrests were held during a police operation in Athens, Piraeus and Perama as part of efforts to tackle organised crime. Police also seized weapons, explosives and other objects used for criminal purposes.

The other three suspects, two of them aged 33 and 32, are members of the Greek Navy’s Underwater Demolition Team while the third was the twin brother of the 32-year-old who was working at a night club.
