Stefanos Tsitsipas was spotted supporting Paula Badosa from her box as she took on Ashlyn Krueger in her opening match at the Qatar Open on Sunday (February 11). Tsitsipas joined Badosa in Dubai where she was training before heading to Qatar.

Badosa, currently ranked 79th in the WTA World rankings, has had a mixed start to 2024. After a year plagued by injuries in 2023, she kicked off the new season at the Australian Open. Despite showing moments of brilliance, Badosa's run at the tournament came to an end in the third round when she lost to Amanda Anisimova.

Following her Australian Open campaign, Badosa went on to participate in the Hua Hin Championships in Thailand. Although she faced initial struggles against Lanlana Tararudee, Badosa managed to win the match in a three-set battle thanks to her remarkable recovery. However, her next match against Diana Shnaider was cut short due to another injury, this time retired mid-match because of back inflammation.

Unfortunately, Badosa's injury prevented her from competing in the Abu Dhabi Open, where she was supposed to face Anhelina Kalinina. Nevertheless, she recovered from her setback and came back to face Ashlyn Krueger at the Qatar Open. Cameras captured Tsitsipas, Badosa's boyfriend, supporting her from her box, showing his encouragement.

The first-round match between Badosa and Krueger was interrupted by rain, with Badosa leading 6-3, 4-6, 4-2. The match is set to resume on Monday (February 12).
