Kokkinakis Advances to Quarterfinals in Los Cabos with Impressive Back-to-Back Wins

Thanasi Kokkinakis has won two matches in a row against top-60 opponents in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Los Cabos.

The 27-year-old Greek Australian defeated Dan Evans, ranked 42nd in the world, with a score of 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of the hard-court event. This follows Kokkinakis' earlier victory against British player Jack Draper, who is ranked 53rd.

These wins mark Kokkinakis' first appearance in a tour-level quarterfinal since January 2023. His next opponent will be Alexander Zverev, seeded number one in the tournament and currently ranked sixth in the world. Kokkinakis previously lost to the 26-year-old German in their only career meeting in 2022.
