Three days of cinema with documentary screenings are organised in the historic and fully restored Cine Eleusis, which, after twenty years, once again shines a cinematic light on the city of Eleusis to the west of Athens.
The screenings that are part of the "Mysterious 176 Days of Cinema" take the form of a decisive gesture that seeks the organic and functional integration of Cine Eleusis into the cultural everyday life of the city, the wider Greek and international cinematic reality,
The first three days (March 1 to 3) are dedicated to the People and Society of Elefsina.
Here, the two distinct creations of Eleusis filmmaker Philippou Koutsaftis, "Agelastos Petra" and "The Eleusinians", will be shown, as well as the new documentary "Me to stachy si fanela" by Yiannis Kanakis, Yiannis Panagiotarakou & Annas Psarras about the history of the Panelesinian Sports Club since its creation in 1931, until today.
The second three-day period (March 29 to 31) draws inspiration from the mythical geography of archaeological sites and presents indelible moments from the visual documentation of iconic actions of 2023 Eleusis that took place in the Archaeological Site of Eleusis (Mystery 11 MA, Mystery 14 Human Requiem in Eleusis, Mystery 20 Performing Arts Initiator - Narrative Archaeology).
A special moment was the screening of the recent documentary "Zakros" by Filippos Koutsaftis, resulting from his persistent and long-term return to the region of the same name on the eastern end of Crete.
The third three days (April 12 to 14) will be dedicated to the Greek Documentary, which will be framed by educational activities related to the art of film documentation and recording.
