Greek actress Teti Schinaki passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with cancer.

The news was confirmed by her close friend, actress Anna Fonsou, on the television show "Breakfast." Fonsou revealed that Schinaki had been battling the illness for the past year and a half. In her final days, Schinaki was hospitalized at Sotiria Hospital and had lost a significant amount of weight.

"I had called her yesterday and told her I would go today," Fonsou said tearfully on the show. "I didn't get to see her, she died two hours ago."

A Career in Film and Theater

Schinaki was a prominent figure in Greek entertainment, known for her beauty and talent. She rose to fame in the 1980s with her work in numerous video films, a popular format at the time. Later in her career, she transitioned to theater, where she continued to captivate audiences.

On her Facebook page, Fonsou paid tribute to her friend, writing: "You are gone Teti my love... I came today from Thessaloniki to see you but I didn't make it... maybe we will meet in another world... far from sorrows and indifference... Goodbye my modest girlfriend…I love you…."

Schinaki's Legacy

Schinaki was widely recognized as one of the most beautiful women in Greek cinema and television during the 1970s and 1980s. Her filmography includes titles like "The Last Man" and "Untouched Harpoons."

In a past interview, Schinaki reflected on aging and beauty, stating, "Every age has its own [beauty]. Growing up, you gain other things. You can't at 50 and 60 have the body you had at 25, no doubt. What I admire about people is the charm that anyone can exude. This does not change over the years. I have met people who have reached the age of 80 and are just as charming, by different measures, of course. Perhaps it is the only ageless thing in man, because it springs from within him."

Teti Schinaki's passing leaves a void in the Greek entertainment industry. She will be remembered for her talent, grace, and enduring spirit.
