Peggy Zina is a Greek singer of international fame and is rightfully considered to be not only one of the most important Greek singers of today but also one of the most distinguished and unique personalities in the show business.
1995 was the debut year setting the foundation for an enviable career. Fifteen personal albums, seven singles, millions of views/streams and countless live performances are just the prelude of her forthcoming musical achievements.
Peggy Zina, one of Greece’s most popular singers, was born on the 8th of March 1975 and turns 49 today!
At the age of five, she began piano lessons and studied dancing, particularly the jazz genre.
Peggy Zina participated in many artistic school activities during her teens, including theatre and choir.
When she was 14 years old, her father Giorgos Zinas passed away. Her mother, Stella Chrysikopoulou, remarried Nikos Tsiftelis, who Zina has credited with raising and supporting her as if he were “her real father.”
Peggy Zina made her recording debut in 1995 with her self-titled album. The album includes her first hit with the controversial title and lead lyric “An Pas Me Alli Tha Sou Spaso to Kefali” (If you go with another woman I will break your head).
In 1995, she began working with Lefteris Pantazis at the Neraida Club (Thessaloniki) and then with Notis Sfakianakis at Gazi (Athens) in 1996.
Two years later, she released her second album “Anevaines” (You rose), and recorded a duet with Stelios Rokkos on his single “Eisai O Ilios Mou” (“You Are My Sun).
In 2000, Peggy Zina changed recording companies and signed with Nitro Music. The same year she released a four-track CD single titled “Ti Th’ Akouso Akoma” (What else will I hear).

In 2002, she was recommended by Thanos Kalliris to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest. She accepted his proposal to sing a song written by him- “Love Is a Wonderful Thing”.
The song entered the Greek national final. However, it tied for second place with Maria-Louiza & Not 4 Sale’s “To Be Together”. Michalis Rakintzis’s “S.A.G.A.P.O.” won the contest and represented Greece at the contest, where it came in 17th place.

In 2007 after a ten-year relationship, Peggy Zina married her longtime music manager Giorgos Liras.
On 15 March 2010, Alpha TV ranked Zina the 24th top-certified female artist in the nation’s phonographic era (since 1960), totalling nine (at the time) platinum and two gold records.
On October 8, 2011, Zina gave birth to her daughter Ilektra Lira.
