Simona Halep Loses in Return at Miami Open, Sumit Nagal Fails to Qualify

Simona Halep, the former World No.1, made her return to professional tennis after a reduced doping suspension but lost in the first round of the Miami Open to Paula Badosa. Halep started strong but encountered difficulties later in the match and was eventually defeated.

Despite the loss, Halep was glad to be back competing. India's Sumit Nagal also failed to qualify for the main draw. Badosa, who has dealt with back problems recently, will face Aryna Sabalenka in the second round. Sabalenka, whose partner was found dead in an apparent suicide, is still participating in the tournament.
