Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas fought off a tough challenge and an untimely injury to his Italian opponent Jannik Sinner to secure a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory in the semifinals of the Monte Carlo Masters 1,000.

Tsitsipas seized the first set, but Sinner rallied to win the second and take a 4-2 lead in the third. However, disaster struck as Sinner began limping and sought medical attention. Despite treatment, his movement was compromised, allowing Tsitsipas to level the set and eventually claim victory.

The Greek will now face either world number one Novak Djokovic or Norwegian Casper Ruud in the final. This marks Tsitsipas' first final of the year and his third appearance in the Monte Carlo championship match.

Despite Sinner's impressive start to the season, Tsitsipas' victory is a sign of his resurgence after a disappointing year. He will be eager to add another Monte Carlo title to his name, having previously triumphed in 2021 and 2022.
