New Zealand's Tall Blacks Squad Announced for Pre-Olympic Tournament

New Zealand's national basketball coach, Pero Cameron, has unveiled the 14-man squad, along with five substitutes, for the upcoming Pre-Olympic Tournament scheduled to take place at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus from July 2 to 7.

The Tall Blacks find themselves in Group 1 of the tournament alongside tough competitors Slovenia and Croatia. Meanwhile, the Greek national team will also vie for a spot in the Olympic Men's Basketball Tournament in Paris, competing in Group 2 against Egypt and the Dominican Republic.

With only one team securing a coveted ticket to the Olympics from the Pre-Olympic Tournament, the stakes are high for all participating teams.

Pero Cameron's selection for the Tall Blacks includes Flynn Cameron, Finn Delaney, Ben Gold, Hirum Harris, Tyrrell Harrison, Shea Ely, Isaiah LiAfa, Jordan Engatai, Ethan Roosbach, Reuben Te Rangi, Tom Vontanovic, Sam Vardenberg, Cory Webster, and Yanni Wedgell.

Additionally, Cameron has named Taylor Britt, Dan Fotu, Sam Menega, Tane Murray, and Sam Timmins as substitutes, providing depth and versatility to the squad as they aim to secure their spot in the Olympic Games.
