Security Measures Planned for Olympiacos vs Fiorentina Conference League Final

Ahead of the Conference League final between Olympiacos and Fiorentina on May 29th, the Hellenic Police has laid out stringent security measures to ensure the smooth flow of fans and maintain order around the OPAP Arena.

The initial meeting to discuss security measures will be held today under the supervision of Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, with the attendance of UEFA representatives. Given the high-risk nature of the match, strict security protocols are anticipated, with the stadium in Nea Philadelphia set to be fortified.

Special attention will be paid to fans who have previously posed concerns to authorities. The Hellenic Police, particularly the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence at Sports Venues, will activate their information network to identify and monitor these individuals closely.

The operational planning involves various units, including state security, riot squads, the OPKE police force, and the Anti-Terrorist Squad, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to ensuring safety and security during the event.
