CENTCOM Confirms Houthi Drone Strike on Greek-Owned Freighter

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Monday that the Greek-owned freighter 'Transworld Navigator' was struck by a Houthi drone off the coast of Yemen.

The attack, initially reported by a spokesman for the rebels on Sunday, occurred at around 04:00.

According to a Reuters report, the Liberian-flagged M/V Transworld Navigator sustained minor damage and the crew reported minor injuries. Despite the attack, the vessel continued its journey. This marks the fourth time the ship has been targeted by the Houthis.

In a related incident last week, the Greek-owned bulk carrier 'Tutor' was attacked by a small vessel and sank following an onboard explosion. The 'Tutor' had a crew of 22 Filipino nationals, all but one of whom were rescued by the US cruiser 'Philippine Sea'. One crew member remains missing.
