Railroad lines in France were subjected to numerous coordinated attacks, including arson. This was reported by the operator of railway transportation SNCF.
As a result of the sabotage, traffic on the Atlantic, northern and eastern lines was disrupted, causing significant disruptions to train schedules. The incidents occurred hours before the start of the Olympic opening ceremony. The event is expected to be attended by 320,000 people.
Le Figaro reported that Israel warned France about possible terrorist attacks during the Olympics.
The coordinated attacks targeted the TGV high-speed rail network that links Paris with the main regions of France.
Although an attack was attempted on the southeast line, it was prevented by staff.
The attacks were timed to cause maximum disruption to the Olympic Games, which open in Paris later today.
No group has claimed responsibility for them yet.
