The launch of Citroen’s small electric car will offer an affordable solution for everyone, but first, it will attend the big Motor Show in the Greek capital.
After we drove and gave you our first – very positive – impressions of the brand-new Citroen e-C3 in Austria, the time has come to see it in Greece.
The French manufacturer’s new electric will have a resounding presence at AUTO ATHINA 2024, which will take place at the Metropolitan Expo between October 5 and 13, 2024.
Immediately after, it will be officially available on the Greek market, with the agency opening orders.
Citroen has managed to reduce development and manufacturing costs as much as possible, ultimately achieving its goal of making the car affordable for the average consumer.
In terms of design, it represents the new design philosophy of the French brand, with a more boxy body, vertical grille, clearly thinner light bodies compared to the outgoing C3 and, of course, the new company logo with the oval shape.
Its dimensions are similar to and different from those of the outgoing model. It has the same length, 3.98 metres, but the height is greater, 1.57 metres. The vehicle is also a respectable distance from the ground, 163 millimetres, which brings it to the level of a compact SUV.
Its interior is modern and youthful, with beautiful details and quality materials, although Citroen has limited itself to keep costs down.
They call this specific aesthetic approach C-Zen Lounge. In the technological sector, the driver is in front of a Head-up Display instead of an instrument panel, with all the necessary information located in a special recess of the dashboard.
In the centre of the dashboard is a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, slightly turned towards the driver to maximise ergonomics. From there, passengers adjust the car’s most important functions.
Closing with the cabin, it is clearly more spacious than the outgoing C3, with the wheelbase measured at 2,540 millimetres, while the trunk has a capacity of 310 litres.
The new EV is based on the Stellantis Smart Car platform. It has an electric motor with an output of 113 hp and is powered by an LFP technology battery measuring 44 kWh.
The latter ensures 320 kilometres of autonomy, based on a standard WLTP cycle, and can fill its energy in a fast charger (DC) with a power of up to 100 kW, which allows it to be filled from 20-80% in 26 minutes.
Accordingly, it accepts a maximum charging power of 11 kW on a single-phase charger (AC) (the onboard charger is at 7 kW), and the filling of 0-100% has been measured in 4 hours and 10 minutes.
In terms of performance, the new Citroen e-C3 completes the 0-100 km/h in about 11 seconds, with the final limit at 135 km/h.
All in all, Citroen’s brand new EV is an easy, comfortable, and pleasant car that, with its quality and price, competes equally with the Chinese competition, giving yet another affordable proposition for anyone thinking of entering the world of electric mobility.
Those who attend AUTO ATHINA 2024 will have the opportunity to discover every aspect and detail of the Citroen e-C3, which will be on display from October 5th to 13th.
