The Drymos-Vonitsa section, with particular technical challenges due to its mountainous nature, offers significant road improvements for the region since the completion of the road will change the way of travel in Western Greece.

Specifically, the Lefkada-Athens route is expected to be reduced to approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes, thus offering drivers significant time and fuel savings.

In addition, the new road will directly connect Aktiou with the Ionian Road, strengthening the region’s overall road infrastructure.

With a budget of 160.5 million euros, Amvrakia Odos will have four traffic lanes and bypass Amfilochia and Vonitsa, thus facilitating faster traffic. The recent completion of the Amfilochia Bypass has already relieved the city of the traffic burden, proving the project’s value.
