Yannis Plutarchos Files Lawsuit Against Alleged Stalker

Renowned Greek singer Yannis Plutarchos has taken legal action against a fan, accusing her of persistent harassment. The lawsuit, filed on Monday, alleges that the 47-year-old woman repeatedly disturbed Plutarchos at his home, insulted his sexual dignity, and engaged in stalking.

According to reports, the woman would often visit the singer’s residence, ringing his doorbell late at night and leaving love letters and personal items that bordered on offensive. One of the notes reportedly included the phrase, “I want to make love,” and forensic analysis revealed that genetic material was found on it, linking her to the correspondence.

In a series of television appearances, the woman’s lawyer, Paulina Veltsi, defended her client, explaining that the fan’s actions were driven by a one-sided romantic obsession. Appearing on the morning show “Happy Day,” Veltsi described her client as “in love” and at a “vulnerable” point in her life. She insisted that her client never intended to harm the singer and has since regretted her actions. “She has repented and will apologise. Her goal was to form an emotional connection, not to intimidate,” Veltsi said.

However, tensions escalated later that day during Veltsi’s appearance on the TV show “To Proino” with host Giorgos Liagas. The interview took a confrontational turn when Veltsi, frustrated by frequent interruptions, threatened to cut the connection. “If you keep interrupting me, I will cut the connection. This is the last time. You are being impertinent,” Veltsi said, before abruptly ending the call.

Liagas responded to the incident on-air, criticising Veltsi’s reaction: “If they’ve learned to go elsewhere and be flattered, that’s not what happens here. We ask real questions, not public relations.”
