Cinnamon cake with chocolate icing

Very fragrant and delicious, a cinnamon cake is the best for any time of the day. Combined with a chocolate glaze, it can be a complete dessert, ideal even for a table with friends.

Materials

For the cake

365 g of wheat flour
20 gr. cinnamon, powder
20 gr. baking powder
4 eggs (medium size)
450 gr. brown sugar
200 ml kefir
150 ml sunflower oil
200 gr. chocolate drops
For the icing
150 gr. dark chocolate couverture, in pieces
120 ml of milk
One pinch of salt

Procedure

Step 1

In a bowl, mix the flour with the cinnamon and baking powder. In a large bowl, mix the eggs, sugar and kefir with a wire whisk. Add the flour mixture and mix with a wire whisk until they are homogenised. Finally, add the sunflower oil and the chocolate drops and mix.

Step 2

With a brush, grease a classic round cake tin with a little sunflower oil and sprinkle it with flour. Pour the mixture into the mold and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C fan force for 45′. Leave the cake out of the oven for 10 minutes to cool down and unmold it.

Step 3

Icing: Cut the couverture and put it in a bowl. Boil the milk and pour it over the couverture. Add the salt. Wait a while for the pieces of chocolate to start melting and homogenise with a spatula. Pour the frosting over the cake while it is still warm.
