A wildfire broke out early Tuesday, October 29, in the Vagia area of Serifos, rapidly spreading through low-lying vegetation.
Firefighting teams responded quickly, with ground forces and a firefighting aircraft deployed to contain the flames.
To support local efforts, reinforcements from Paros, including four additional firefighters and a fire engine, are being transported by ferry to join the battle against the blaze. Local authorities are monitoring conditions closely as crews work to prevent the fire from reaching inhabited areas. So far, no evacuations have been necessary, and officials remain on high alert to ensure public safety.
