According to ANA reports, Aegean Airlines has announced an increase in direct flights from Thessaloniki to Kalamata in response to growing demand from business professionals, students, and tourists travelling between Northern Greece and the Peloponnese.
This announcement was made during an event hosted by the municipality of Kalamata at a Thessaloniki hotel.
Starting this winter, Aegean will offer three direct flights per week, up from two, and will increase summer flights to five, up from three. Irene Sidiropoulou, Aegean’s head of operations, noted that 23,000 seats will be available for this route in 2025.
Kalamata Mayor Athanasios Vasilopoulos highlighted the strong connections formed between the two cities since the route was established in 2010. The increased flights facilitate students choosing Thessaloniki for their studies and foster business investments and tourism from Northern Greece.
