Aristotelis Thanos has achieved a new career high, breaking into the ATP top 600 for the first time.
Following successful performances in American Futures tournaments, Thanos earned 14 ranking points, propelling him 87 spots up the ATP rankings to world No. 596.
This marks the 23-year-old Greek player's first foray into the top 600. Thanos is not a full-time tour player, currently competing in his second season for Michigan State University in the US collegiate system.
He is now ranked No. 3 in Greece, closing in on Stefanos Sakellaridis, who holds the No. 2 spot. Sakellaridis dropped one position this week to No. 501.
Stefanos Tsitsipas remains Greece's top-ranked player at world No. 11, a position he is expected to maintain through the end of the year.
Other Greek players in the ATP men's singles rankings include Giannis Xylas (No. 792), Dimitris Azoidis (No. 958), Pavlos Tsitsipas (No. 1055), Alexandros Skorilas (No. 1166), Dimitris Sakellaridis (No. 1292), Markos Kalovelonis (No. 1372), and Christos Antonopoulos (No. 1629).
In doubles, Petros Tsitsipas remains Greece's No. 1, moving up one spot to world No. 107. His brother, Stefanos, also gained a position, reaching No. 160.
Markos Kalovelonis is ranked No. 366, and Dimitris Sakellaridis is at No. 402. His brother, Michalis Sakellaridis, is ranked No. 495.
