Invited dignitaries include Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Greece’s UN Representative Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris, Greek Ambassador to the US Aikaterini Nasika, Consul General in New York Ifigenia Kanara, and former US Ambassador to Greece George Tsunis. This year’s honorees are celebrated Greek actor and filmmaker Christoforos Papakaliatis, known for Maestro, and three-time Olympic weightlifter Pyrros Dimas.

The parade will feature representatives from the Greek Parliament, political parties, local officials, and Greek-American members of the US Congress. Over 120 groups, including 52 floats and 15 bands, will proceed along Fifth Avenue from 64th to 79th Street, led by the Evzones, Greece’s distinguished presidential honor guard.
Funding has been provided by contributions from George Tsunis, the Archdiocese of America, Greek-American business leaders, and AHEPA, according to organizers. New York police expect a larger crowd this year compared to previous celebrations.
