On Crete, the heaviest rainfall—recorded near the port of Chania—unleashed floodwaters that trapped seven people in their vehicles, prompting rescue operations. Rockslides and road closures further compounded the chaos as the storm shifted southeast overnight. Meanwhile, Rhodes contended with gale-force winds that uprooted trees and damaged cars.
In the Cyclades, Paros and Mykonos faced torrential downpours and hailstorms on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Drone footage from Naousa’s port on Paros captured cars swept into the sea and streets clogged with debris. Homes and businesses were inundated with water and mud, prompting local authorities to request emergency government aid to repair roads and infrastructure.
