Who Was Nikos Galanos?
Nikos Galanos, whose real name was Nikos Soupionas, was born in Athens on December 20, 1945. He was an actor in film, theater, and television. He began his career in the 1960s and gained significant recognition in the early 1970s with leading roles in Greek cinema.
He made his film debut in 1962 with a small role in the movie Anger.
Galanos studied acting at the Kostis Michaelidis Drama School and made his theatrical debut in the late 1960s, performing alongside Jenny Karezi.
During the same period, he appeared in films such as Cry (1964), My Tears Are Burning (1964), The Man from Heaven (1965), The Boulevard of Hate (1968), Panic (1969), and I Die Every Dawn (1969).
In the early 1970s, he starred alongside Aliki Vougiouklaki in the film A Funny Girl as Alekos Venieris, which brought him widespread fame. This was followed by other leading roles in films.
Some of his most notable films include Zero Visibility (1970), Astrapiogiannos (1970), Aliki the Dictator (1972), and The Sin of Beauty (1972), which achieved great success.
In 1974, he made his television debut in the series The Just, followed by leading roles in series such as The Journey, Love and Revolution, The Battle of the Storks, The Guards of Achaia, and others.
