St. Andrew’s Grammar in Dianella has solidified its reputation as a sporting powerhouse, delivering an outstanding performance at the 2025 Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event (GOAANSE), held in Perth from May 6–9.
Hosting the event for the first time in a rotation of seven schools, St. Andrew’s Grammar welcomed over 400 student athletes, coaches, and staff from six interstate Greek Orthodox schools. The event, guided by the values of Philoxenia kai Philia (Hospitality and Friendship), saw the Perth school not only excel as hosts but also dominate on the field, securing a historic win.

St. Andrew’s was crowned Champion School, claiming five of the eleven contested titles: Girls’ Netball, Boys’ and Girls’ Football, Girls’ Futsal, and Boys’ Table Tennis. This victory marks a new chapter for the school, showcasing the talent and dedication of its student athletes.
“Winning the overall Champion School trophy is a historic achievement for us,” said Principal Craig Monaghan. “It’s a powerful reflection of the talent and dedication of our student athletes, and the strength of our Perth Glory Football and High-Performance Netball Academies.”

In the 27-year history of GOAANSE, St. Andrew’s had never won more than four championships—until this year. Over three days, they clinched five titles, with the Girls’ Futsal win holding special significance, coming shortly after their recent triumph in the WA Secondary Futsal State Championship. These achievements underscore the school’s consistent sporting excellence.
St. Andrew’s Grammar continues to set the bar high, proving that dedication, talent, and community spirit can lead to remarkable success. Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, and staff who made this victory possible!
