The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) has announced a collaboration with renowned actress Nia Vardalos to support Greece’s preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
While in Greece for her performances in Tiny Beautiful Things at the Pallas Theater, Vardalos met with HOC President Isidoros Kouvelos to discuss her potential role in championing the Greek Olympic team. The My Big Fat Greek Wedding star offered to assemble a team to assist the HOC in various capacities ahead of the 2028 Games.
The meeting was also attended by HOC Secretary General Stefanos Chandakas, Olympic Torch Relay Commission President Thomas Tokas, and Tiny Beautiful Things co-director Spyros Katsaganis.
HOC President Kouvelos expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It was an honor to welcome Nia Vardalos to the Hellenic Olympic Committee. Her global representation of Greece is invaluable, and she warmly embraced my proposal to support our Olympic team, whether through the Greek diaspora or other initiatives. We are deeply grateful for her commitment to strengthening Greece’s presence at the 2028 Olympics.”
