Ersoy claimed the trip was for an interview with columnist Ahmet Hakan, but critics argue it was a personal vacation. Social media erupted, with one post stating, “While our tourism industry suffers, the minister relaxes in Greek waters.” Others questioned his choice of a foreign destination over Turkey’s resorts.

Even AKP member Şamil Tayyar criticized the move, citing regional conflicts, the Gaza crisis, and economic challenges, calling the images “deeply disturbing.”

Ersoy, a wealthy former tour operator, has long faced scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest.
