WA Liberal Party leader Basil Zempilas has swapped his suits for board shorts and thongs, soaking up the sun on a family holiday in Greece.
Joined by his wife Amy and their children Ava, Chloe, and Anthony, Zempilas is revisiting Kastellorizo, a serene island in the eastern Mediterranean, for the third time in seven years. Amy shared glimpses of their trip on Instagram, showcasing the Opposition leader in a relaxed mode, sporting Aviator sunglasses and fishing with his son against a backdrop of turquoise waters and charming island scenery.
“It’s impossible to capture the magic that is Kastellorizo. The place my husband’s family are from. Where we were married and two of our children were christened,” Ms Zempilas posted.
Known locally as “Kazzi,” the island sits just 2km from Turkey’s coast, making it Greece’s easternmost gem. Recently dubbed a “secret Greek island to know about for 2025” by Conde Nast Traveller, Kastellorizo boasts pastel-colored houses, scenic hills, and attractions like the Blue Grotto sea cave and snorkeling near Saint George Island.
While Zempilas skipped earlier family stops in Naxos and Santorini, he’s clearly savoring the slower pace of island life. However, his social media still hums with Liberal Party campaigning, proving the political hustle never fully stops.
