Five Greek-Cypriot Refugees Detained in Occupied Trikomo Over Property Visits

TRIKOMO, Cyprus – Turkish occupation authorities detained five elderly Greek-Cypriot refugees, including men and women, on Saturday night in occupied Trikomo, charging them with “espionage.” The group was visiting their properties in the occupied village, according to Theodoros Gotsis, spokesperson for the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The arrests are seen as a possible response to ongoing legal actions against individuals usurping Greek-Cypriot properties. The five are scheduled to appear before a “court” in the occupied areas on Sunday afternoon.
