JPMorgan Chase Partners with Coinbase to Offer Crypto Funding Options

New York, NY – July 31, 2025 – JPMorgan Chase has announced a partnership with Coinbase, enabling customers to fund their cryptocurrency wallets using Chase credit cards starting in fall 2025. The collaboration will also allow direct bank account linkages to Coinbase, streamlining cryptocurrency purchases.

Beginning in 2026, Chase customers can redeem Ultimate Rewards points for USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar, at a 1:1 ratio. This move marks a significant shift for JPMorgan, despite CEO Jamie Dimon’s 2023 statement dismissing Bitcoin as a “hyped-up fraud.” The partnership reflects a strategic embrace of the $4 trillion crypto market.

The initiative emphasizes secure API integration and strict regulatory compliance to protect customer data. Following PNC’s recent collaboration with Coinbase, this partnership signals growing acceptance of digital assets among traditional banks, driven by rising consumer demand.
