“Everyday Saints” Theme Inspires Record Number of Campers at MBC
CONTOOCOOK, N.H. — The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston Camp (MBC) marked its 36th year with a record-breaking summer, hosting over 600 campers and 100 volunteer staff at its Contoocook, New Hampshire, facility. This season was the camp’s busiest in over a decade.
In a July 30 statement, the Metropolis expressed deep gratitude, stating, “We reflect with joy and awe at God’s work among us, giving thanks for the chance to serve so many young people in the life of the Church.”
The 2025 summer theme, “Everyday Saints,” highlighted how ordinary individuals—teachers, students, workers, and friends—lived with holiness, humility, and courage in Christ. Through daily prayer, fellowship, and discussions, campers explored how to embody these virtues in both joyful and challenging moments.
The Metropolis lauded its young adult staff, many of whom are MBC alumni, for their selfless dedication. “The heart of MBC’s ministry thrives on the energy and love of those who serve without seeking reward, driven by a passion for Christ and our youth,” the statement noted. Clergy, healthcare workers, kitchen staff, and maintenance teams also ensured campers’ spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Each week, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston visited, reinforcing his commitment to the spiritual growth of the youth, described as a cornerstone of MBC’s mission.
The Metropolis concluded:
“For 36 years, MBC has been a sanctuary where young people meet Christ, forge lifelong friendships, and grow as Church leaders. Camp is more than a memory—it’s a lasting connection to faith and community. We give thanks for this remarkable season and look forward to many more summers of joy, growth, and transformation.”
