Struggling to reclaim his spot among the ATP elite, Stefanos Tsitsipas has faced a challenging season. Despite a promising start with a racket change and a title win at the Dubai ATP 500 in February, the Greek star has been unable to maintain momentum, with his ranking slipping to 29th.
After a brief and unsuccessful stint with coach Goran Ivanisevic, Tsitsipas has reunited with his father, Apostolos, as his coach, a year after their previous split. Their first tournament back together ended in an early exit at the Toronto Masters 1000. However, Tsitsipas remains optimistic, especially as lower expectations heading into the US Open could play to his advantage.
In an interview with L'Equipe ahead of the Cincinnati tournament, Tsitsipas shared insights into his evolved relationship with his father: "Working with Goran was great, but something felt incomplete. Reuniting with my father was the right choice. We’ve both learned from past tensions, and our relationship is now much calmer."
He added, "We’ve adjusted how we interact, with him listening to my perspective more. We’re taking it step by step to see how this evolves."
