UPDATE: New Date for Greek Film Festival Spotlight on local Filmmakers

The 30th Greek Film Festival of Sydney has announced that Monday October 20th is the new date for the special event next month spotlighting the work of Sydney-based Greek-Australian filmmakers.

Titled Sydney Silver Screen: A Night with Local Legends the evening will feature a Q&A session with director-producer Peter Andrikidis, writer-director Kay Pavlou, writer-director Alex Lykos, filmmaker and author Billy Cotsis. The discussion will be hosted by the Sydney-based podcast team Ouzo Talk.

Organisers say the evening will give audiences the chance to learn more about the creative processes and career paths of the participating filmmakers. Light refreshments will be served on arrival.

Harry Danalis, President of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW, said the event contributes to preserving and sharing the stories of Greek Australians. Festival Chair Nia Karteris added that it reflects the festival’s mission of showcasing both Greek and Greek-Australian cinema.

The Greek Film Festival of Sydney is presented by Benchmark Greek Law and runs annually with a program of Greek and Greek-Australian films.
