Body of 70-Year-Old Man Recovered in Port of Piraeus

The body of a 70-year-old Greek national was located and recovered in the early hours of the morning from the sea area of Gate E1, within the central port of Piraeus.

According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, the man's body was retrieved by divers from the Underwater Missions Unit (MYA).

Forces from the Coast Guard and an ambulance from the National Emergency Service (EKAB) rushed to the scene. The ambulance transported the man to the Attikon General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Piraeus. The circumstances under which the man ended up in the sea are not yet known.
