Former Minister Triantopoulos Summoned for Tempe Train Crash

Former Deputy Minister for Natural Disasters Christos Triantopoulos and former Regional Governor Kostas Agorastos are among eight individuals summoned to give testimony before the investigating judge of the Special Court for Ministerial Responsibility regarding the alteration of the Tempe train crash site.

The summons follow the completion of the investigative procedures and witness examinations by judge Foteini Miliona. The eight non-political figures, who had previously testified to a special appeals investigator, are accused alongside Triantopoulos of tampering with the accident scene. The former deputy minister had been referred to the court by Parliament for breach of duty.

The testimonies of all eight accused are scheduled to be taken before the Christmas holidays. Following this, the preliminary investigation is expected to conclude, and the case will proceed to the full Judicial Council for trial.

In a separate but related case, a different investigative judge has already begun the process for former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Kostas A. Karamanlis, who was also referred by Parliament for a misdemeanor charge of breach of duty concerning the same incident.
