"Who are the most popular MEPs in your opinion ?" was the question posed in a nationwide telephone survey completed on Tuesday by a large polling company, on a sample of 1,250 people, and published by Parapolitika. This survey concerns diplomatic issues and foreign policy.

In the question, Giorgos Aftias comes first with 57% popularity, followed by Nikos Papandreou with 47% and Nikolas Farantouris third with 46%. Eliza Vozemberg comes fourth with 39% and Eleonora Meleti comes fifth with 36%. This is followed by Yannis Maniatis and then Kostas Arvanitis with 24%.

The points received by the elected MEPs of the first three parties:

New Democracy: Giorgos Aftias 304,937, Vangelis Meimarakis 255,860, Eliza Vozemberg 242,391, Fredis Beleris 234,024, Eleonora Meleti 170,297, Manolis Kefalogiannis 159,246, Dimitris Tsiodras 154,518.

SYRIZA: Kostas Arvanitis 151,682, Nikolaos Farantouris 134,188, Nikolaos Pappas 125,545, Elena Kountoura 112,676.

PASOK: Nikos Papandreou 120,970, Yannis Maniatis 106,303, Sakis Arnaoutoglou 90,459.
