Greek Police Smash Athens Drug Ring Run By Foreign Nationals

Greek police have dismantled a criminal group operating in the Agios Panteleimonas area of central Athens, arresting 14 foreign nationals, including a 13-year-old, for involvement in street-level drug distribution.

The arrests took place on the afternoon of December 15, 2025, following a thorough investigation by the Agios Panteleimonas Crime Investigation Unit, in collaboration with the DIAS police team. The suspects, aged between 13 and 31, were part of a group that actively approached passersby in the square, offering narcotics for personal use.

Police reported that the group used various methods to evade detection, concealing drugs in their mouths, under parked vehicles, in manholes, and even inside their shoes. Two ringleaders, aged 24 and 18, coordinated the operation, while members frequently used electric scooters for quick movement.

During the operation, authorities seized:

  • 440 grams of raw cannabis

  • 366 grams of processed cannabis

  • €420 in cash

  • Numerous nylon packaging bags

  • Two precision electronic scales

Most of the arrested individuals had prior criminal records for similar offences. All suspects have been handed over to the public prosecutor for further legal action.
