A 61-year-old woman in Volos has been convicted for stalking her 68-year-old neighbor by sending a continuous stream of erotic messages over several months.
According to court documents, the harassment began on May 14, 2022, and continued until August 30, 2022. During this period, the victim received numerous messages, mostly of a sexual nature. The situation escalated when the neighbor realized she was being followed, prompting her to report the incidents to the police.
The case was heard at the Volos Single-Member Misdemeanor Court on Wednesday, November 6. The accused claimed her messages were intended to persuade the victim to befriend her. The victim testified that the messages and behavior caused fear and distress.
The court found the 61-year-old guilty and sentenced her to 12 months in prison, convertible to a 10-euro daily fine. She was granted the right to appeal with a suspended sentence, under the condition that she avoids any contact with the victim.
