Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted central defence, energy, and financial commitments secured during his recent visits to Greece, France, and Spain — support he says will significantly reinforce Ukraine as it enters the winter months.

Zelenskyy announced that air defence missiles, a new agreement to strengthen Ukraine’s combat aviation fleet, at least €515 million in financial support, and guaranteed gas supplies from Greece were among the key outcomes of the diplomatic tour.
Greece to Supply Ukraine With Winter Gas Needs
The Ukrainian President stressed that Greece is emerging as a critical energy hub for Ukraine and for Central and Eastern Europe.
During talks in Athens, Ukraine signed a gas supply agreement ensuring the country’s needs will be covered for the coming winter — a crucial measure as Russian attacks continue to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyy expressed profound gratitude to Greece and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for their continued support.
France to Bolster Ukraine’s Defence With Major Aviation Deal
In Paris, Ukraine reached a strategic defence agreement that includes:
- 100 Rafale F4 fighter jets by 2035
- SAMP/T air defence systems
- Advanced radars
- Air-to-air missiles and guided aerial bombs
France also confirmed that Ukraine will receive a new military aid package by the end of 2025. Zelenskyy thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for the “significant strengthening” of Ukrainian defence capabilities.
Spain Increases Funding and Air Defence Support
During the Madrid visit, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced substantial additional aid, including:
- €100 million for the PURL initiative to purchase air defence missiles
- €215 million for the SAFE instrument
- €200 million for Ukraine’s energy sector
- A new defence package is currently in preparation, which includes IRIS-T air defence missiles
Zelenskyy said Spain continues to play a key role in helping Ukraine address urgent defence and energy needs.
“Unity Must Continue to Strengthen Ukraine”
The President concluded by stressing the importance of sustained cooperation with international partners:
“We must continue working together to preserve unity so that every week can strengthen Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!”
