The Greek U-17 National Team defeated the hosts, Turkey, in the final to lift the 2017 Aegean Cup. After a goalless draw, the match was decided in penalties where Greece prevailed 5-4.
The Greek U-17 National Team are the champions of the 18th Aegean Cup. In the final, the Ethniki Paidon were matched up with the hosts, Turkey. After normal regulation and two extra time periods ended goalless, the match was sent into a penalty shoot out.
Atromitos’ goalkeeper, Christos Mandas, was the hero for Greece saving two penalties in the shootout as the Galanolefki prevailed 5-4 to defeat Turkey and win the 2017 Aegean Cup.
In March, Greece U17 will begin their second and final round of qualifying for UEFA Euro 2017. They will play in Group 3 with Spain, Portugal, and Poland.
