Greece wins 2 Gold medals at 2018 Mediterranean Games

Greek swimmer Andreas Vazaios and Air Pistol shooting champion Anna Korakaki have won gold for Greece at the 2018 Mediterranean Games, which are being held in Tarragona, Spain.

Vazaios came first in the 200 meters individual medley, with Spain’s Hugo Gonzalez coming in second place and Portugal’s Alexis Santos taking home Bronze.

There were five medals won in total by Greece’s swimming team and the one Gold was by Vazaios.

The day after, Anna Korakaki won Greece’s second Gold medal, as she came first in the 10 metre pistol final, with Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic winning Silver and Lebanon’s Afaf Elhodhod taking home Bronze.

The Mediterranean Games are a multisport competition that is organised within the Olympic movement, with the recognition by the International Olympic Committee.

The participation is established through the Olympic Committees of each of the member countries of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, in the geographical area of the Mediterranean.

The Tarragona games in Spain will be held from 22ndof June to 1stof July 2018, featuring 33 sporting competitions.
