Locals from Trikala headed to the city centre for fireworks, music, and festivities as the pretty city of Thessaly put up its display this weekend of what will be Greece’s tallest natural Christmas tree for 2018.
Trikala is all lit up and the tallest natural Christmas tree in Greece, stands in the town square reaching 33-meters high.
The town of Trikala loves Christmas and people love to visit Iroon Polytechniou Square, during the festive season as it is a celebration of all things Christmas!
The Mayor of Trikala, Dimitris Papastergiou, says he hopes that Trikala can spread the spirit of Christmas throughout the city, with festivities for all visitors and locals of all ages. This year’s theme is"Christmas of the World" and there is also free entrance to the 8th Mill of the Elves Christmas event, which is Greece’s largest Christmas theme park and is expected to draw more than 1 million visitors between now and January 6, 2019.
